Professor Joseph Yam |
Professor Joseph Yam is the founder of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). He served as Chief Executive of the HKMA for over sixteen years before retiring in September 2009. Professor Yam is currently Executive Vice President of the China Society for Finance and Banking, a society managed by the People’s Bank of China. He is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute of Global Economics and Finance and Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Professor Yam is also Chairman of Macroprudential Consultancy Limited, a company he established in 2010 for the purpose of providing advice to financial regulatory authorities on, and promoting, the macroprudential approach to financial regulation.
